Majesty - Golden Eagle

“Golden Eagles are the epitome of raptors. These magnificent birds, found throughout the northern hemisphere, can take prey many times larger than they are, including Bighorn Sheep and wolves. Their fierceness is revered among indigenous people throughout their range, including the Kazakhs of Western Mongolia who hunt with eagles from horseback. 

“As a wildlife rehab volunteer, I have had the extreme honor of working with three injured and nonreleasable goldens. Each one has/had a unique spirit that let me know it was still a wild animal but he or she would allow a human to be a part of its life. The best part of working with goldens is educationally showing them and watching the public reaction. Many are quiet or in awe of being in the presence of something so majestic and still so wild.”
