Hot Springs Killdeer - Killdeer

I don’t often paint landscapes, so this was a bit of a departure for me. Mammoth Hot Springs in Yellowstone is a fascinating place. The travertine layers are interesting and the colors are, too. While I was there, a killdeer appeared and was moving about the terraces. I’m not quite sure what it was doing, but I thought the bird added an interesting sense of scale to this small slice of the hot springs landscape.
