Wake - Black-legged Kittiwake
12 inches high x 16 inches wide
“Black-legged Kittiwakes can be observed on their nesting ground, usually rocky cliff faces in the arctic and subarctic regions. They are less common the rest of the year as they spend most of their time soaring over the oceans seeking food. Kittiwakes, like many other pelagic birds, are dependent upon the availability of fish. Their population has declined by 40 percent over the past 40 years from threats including warming oceans and overfishing, and are listed as “vulnerable” by the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).”
