“I find beauty everywhere, even when the subject is not considered cute or fluffy. That’s why this wood stork caught my attention. This is a study in colorful contrasts: the dark skin of the stork against a darker background of the trees, the shades of grays and greens found on the skin, the white of its feathers picking up colors from the sky or refracting other colors like a prism. All these subtle details found on a stork made this a beautiful bird to paint.”
